Pope Leo XIV has contributed a foreword to a new edition of “YOUCAT: Love Forever,” a resource intended to guide young Catholics through questions of love, relationships, and marriage. The publication features testimonies from young people representing more than 30 countries.
In his introduction, the pontiff emphasized the divine foundation of enduring affection. He wrote that love is authentic and can last forever only when it reflects the eternal splendour of God – God who is love.
The release coincides with the Holy Father’s ongoing engagement with families. During a General Audience on September 9, 2026, Pope Leo XIV greeted a newly-wed couple, highlighting the Church’s focus on marital commitment.
The theme of steadfast devotion aligns with the symbolism in the pope’s personal coat of arms, which depicts Saint Augustine’s burning heart pierced by an arrow.
